Dialight Expands MicroLED® Line with 3 New Surface Mount LEDs

0402, PLCC-2 Models Harness 80+ Years of Innovation to Deliver Most Reliable & Widest Selection of SM Indication
FARMINGDALE, N.J. (May 15, 2019)—Dialight (LSE:DIA) today announced the expansion of its industry-leading MicroLED® surface-mount indicator line with three new products designed for high-performance and reliability in electronics, networking, automation and handheld device applications.
The new products leverage Dialight’s 80-plus year history of indicator innovation, offering durable, long-lasting solutions for low-power, small footprint applications. With an expanded lineup that now includes a new 0402 and two new PLCC-2 models, Dialight’s wide inventory of surface-mount technology provides single-source supplier ease of procurement for its customers. These are the latest in a prolific series of new product rollouts expected over the next few months as Dialight ramps up R&D in its signals and components business.
The 0402 (1005) SM 5988A Series is a low-current, 5 milliamp signal that’s just .039” (1.0mm) x .020” (0.5mm) x .020” (0.4mm) but delivers a vibrant punch with battery power conservation for small electronics. The small package allows for close-quarters placement and is compatible with pick-and-place installation automation in a 4,000-piece reel. Also available in 20-piece sample strips, the new 0402 comes in 7 wavelengths, including 635nm and 625 nm Red, 605nm Orange, 590nm Yellow, 570nm Yellow-Green, 525nm Green and 470nm Blue.
The PLLC-2 3528 SM 5988B Series and Mini PLCC-2 SM 5988C Series both feature an integrated reflector cup that focuses the beam, reduces light bleed and provides brighter on-axis viewability. Both are ideal for light pipe, backlighting and indicator applications, and come in 6 different wavelengths: 623nm Red, 605nm Orange, 590nm Yellow, 570nm Yellow Green, 525nm Green and 470nm Blue.
At just .138” (3.5mm) x .110” (2.8mm) x .075” (1.9mm), the 20 milliamp 3528 offers high intensity light with pick-and-place compatibility in 2,000-piece/reel and 20-piece strip. The Mini is nearly half the size at just .087” (2.2mm) x .055” (1.4mm) x .051” (1.3mm) and is available with low-current 2 milliamp or 20 milliamp LEDs. It too is pick-and-place compatible in 3,000 pieces/reel and 20-piece strip.
